I wish this photo could be scratch and sniff. There is nothing else like the scent of a lemon blossom. Walk by the tree and the breeze stirs up the sweetness. Because the tree is inside, I pollinate the blossoms by hand, making sure the pollen from the anthers gets onto the center pistil. This year the tree has loads of blossoms. Hopefully, this translates into fruit. Last year’s crop produced exactly one lemon. Our house’s south-facing light is blocked by the porch, so the tree isn’t thrilled about winter in CT.
