Greater Celandine: Invasive weed!

Greater celandine. Not native and rather invasive. It produces tons of seeds that ants disperse. The sap is a bright yellow and has been used to treat warts, But it’s also considered to be toxic so I don’t think I’ll find out. There is also the celandine poppy but it has yellow flowers twice the size of greater celandine’s (about 1”across) and the leaves are different. However, celandine is in the poppy (papaver) family, so not confusing at all! The best way to be rid of greater celandine is to pull the plant before the long seed pods develop. The roots are shallow enough that it isn’t hard to yank out.
