Clematis or Truffula Trees?

Remember the Dr. Seuss clematis from earlier in the summer? The top poms dried into little brown seeds with tails. The last photo is a late bloomer which got hit by frost and now is quite hairy. Same plant, different behavior. Still Seussian, though. It’s Horton Hears a Who rather than The Lorax, this time.
